The Department of Cancer Biology and Genetics in the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center solicits applications for a tenure-track faculty member at the assistant professor rank. Candidates should have an MD, MD/Ph.D., or Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, documented evidence of high-quality, impactful research, and a strong commitment to education and research at a major university. Individuals with research programs focused in one or more of the following areas is preferred as these disciplines compliment on-going departmental research: RNA biology, epigenetics, chromatin structure, transcriptional regulation, post-translational modifications and/or multi-omics. Individuals with innovative model systems (e.g. organoids), technology (proteomics/spatial omics), or methodological approaches are encouraged to apply. Faculty will be provided with a competitive salary and start-up package.
Performance Objectives
The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program and participate in graduate and medical student education.

Department Information
The Department of Cancer Biology and Genetics is one of 8 basic science departments in the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Research areas and strengths of the Department include DNA damage and repair, cancer metabolism, cancer biomarkers, structure, function and posttranslational modifications of proteins, RNA biology and RNA binding proteins, genetic and epigenetic regulation in cancer, gene therapy, viral integration and biology, and viral dUTPases.
The OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center
The Department collaborates closely with the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) , which provides the infrastructure and the resources for strong interdisciplinary interactions for cancer researchers within the department with a focus on translation, in a collegial and supportive research environment. The 19 CCC shared resources are state of the art with cutting-edge technologies (). The OSU CCC supports a number of institutes and centers including Pelotonia Institute of Immuno-Oncology Research (PIIO), the Center for Cancer Metabolism, and the Center for Cancer Engineering.
