Student Health Services serves the health care needs of OSU students. The Medical Assistant (MA)) works with a multi-disciplinary team of physicians and other health care professionals to provide primary care, ambulatory care, and clinical services to students at The Ohio State University. The MA serves as one of the primary initial contacts with clinical services; by providing patient care, obtaining patient reason for visit, vital signs, and other clinical information; assists providers with procedures; prepare exam rooms, administers injections, cares out clinical orders and documents all information in the electronic health record. May work some evening and Saturday hours. Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen and background check . Qualifications:
Required: High school graduate or equivalent; graduate of an accredited medical assistant school; certified or registered Medical Assistant; must obtain Basic Life Support- Health Care Worker (BLS-HCW) certification prior to start date; previous front-line customer service experience. Successful completion of a background check and health screen.
Desired: One year of work experience in an outpatient medical facility; excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of medical terminology, 6 months of electronic health information system training or experience; keyboarding training or experience.
