A Research Technician position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Guramrit Singh at the Ohio State University, supervised by Dr. Rene Arvola. The Research Technician will support multiple technical aspects of ongoing research efforts. The candidate will generate necessary reagents and perform basic research tasks as directed by their postdoctoral mentor and the lab PI. Responsibilities will include generating, validating and maintaining CRISPR modified mammalian cell lines; assisting with routine genotyping; maintaining relevant plasmid stocks, buffers and other necessary reagents for experiments; attending weekly lab meetings and meeting regularly with Drs. Singh and Arvola to update on progress; and keeping a detailed laboratory notebook with all data and relevant information on reagents and experiments. The Research Technician will perform research tasks utilizing standard laboratory protocols to support ongoing projects, which includes the following: tissue cell culture, molecular cloning, CRISPR, Western blotting, PCR and RT-qPCR, and gel electrophoresis.
Required: Bachelor's degree in biological sciences (e.g. molecular genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology) or equivalent experience. One year of relevant experience.
Desired: Prior experience with molecular cloning and mammalian tissue cell culture highly desired.

The pay range for this job profile is $15.70 - $20.67. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
