Description of Work:


Duties/Responsibilities: Responsibilities include overseeing instruction in introductory courses taught by graduate teaching assistants and mentoring the instructors. It is also expected that the successful candidate will teach first and second year undergraduate courses. Other responsibilities include professional development for graduate teaching assistants, updating introductory courses, and overseeing the use of technology in the Department's instruction (such as WeBWorK).

Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in mathematics or a closely related field or anticipated degree by August 2025.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Strong teaching and mentoring skills.

  • Adept at overseeing lower-level courses taught by graduate teaching assistants.

  • Interest in teaching pedagogy for graduate teaching assistants and in overseeing the use of technology in the Department's instruction (such as WeBWorK).

  • A commitment to an inclusive environment and working with diverse communities.
