Job Description
The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.
We are interested in candidates who wish to be part of a transformative cancer control research program and have research interests and expertise in cancer prevention, lifestyle medicine and survivorship. There is particular interest in candidates who are team scientists, highly collaborative and have expertise in one or more of the following areas: exercise and physical activity; nutrition; obesity and body composition; symptom and toxicities measurement and management; patient reported outcomes (PROs); technology-supported behavioral interventions; biobehavioral mechanisms in cancer control; electronic health record (EHR), bioinformatics and value-based models of cancer survivorship care; health disparities in specific survivorship subgroups (e.g., LGBT; Hispanics; Elderly); cardiometabolic health in cancer survivors; and/or translational science and dissemination and implementation research.
Sylvester and the cancer control research program provide an excellent platform for research and education including a diverse and broad scientific portfolio of cancer prevention and survivorship-related studies. This position will fall under the auspices of Sylvester's Lifestyle Medicine, Prevention and Digital Health initiative, which is closely aligned with the cancer center's Cancer Control research program and led by nationally and internationally recognized leading experts in cancer prevention, digital health, and survivorship research. The Cancer Control research program provides opportunities for collaborative research within the program, and with Sylvester's Tumor Biology, Cancer Epigenetics and Translational Clinical Oncology research programs. Sylvester's faculty could hold academic appointment across multiple departments across the university.
Departmental appointment for this position will be aligned with the candidate's interest and academic fit. Candidates should possess a PhD, MD or other doctoral degree in a related behavioral science discipline and have an outstanding record of scholarly publications and extramural funding with exceptional promise in cancer prevention and survivorship research. Salary, rank and academic track will be commensurate with experience and credentials.
