Job Title:Veterinary Educational Program SpecialistDepartment:Veterinary Medicine | Veterinary Preventive Medicine

The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is seeking a Vet Educational Program Specialist to support the Master of Public Health-Veterinary Public Health specialization program (MPH-VPH) and to support graduate students in the Comparative Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program within the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (VPM). This position will support the recruitment and admission process of graduate students to this program. It will also coordinate MPH-VPH graduate students and VPH resident orientations, manage the graduation process for all VPH students and residents, and provide academic advising for current and prospective MPH-VPH graduate students and residents. This position coordinates VPH Committee meetings, coordinates room scheduling for meetings and MPH-VPH courses; organizes special recruitment events, manages student databases and other requirements for accreditation purposes, and contributes in the preparation of grant proposals, manuscripts, web based and course material for the MPH-VPH program. Additionally, the coordinator will work with the College of Veterinary Medicine Graduate Program Coordinator to provide additional specific academic and advising support to Departmental (VPM) graduate students and residents. The Vet Educational Programs Coordinator is responsible for serving as a liaison to various division constituencies at the College of Public Health, other departments at the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Graduate School, student organizations, and other university offices. Furthermore, this position will also provide administrative support to the Director and Associate Director of the MPH-VPH program, particularly with respect to international programs and veterinary public health initiatives that are intertwined with VPH graduate student and resident training. The position will include arranging domestic and international travel, preparing agendas for meetings; and other duties as needed or assigned by the Director. The position will be knowledgeable about the general Departmental administrative tasks, so that they can serve as a backup and support for other VPM Department administrative duties. This position is located in a busy, front office setting in the Veterinary Preventive Medicine Department, with a strong focus on customer service and support for students, faculty, and visitors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to multi-task, have a good attention to detail, professionalism and a positive/welcoming disposition. Successful completion of a criminal background check is required. NOTE: This term position is initially available for a period of one year but renewed annually based on continuation of the program and availability of funds
.



A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.Prefer Master's Degree or equivalent education and experience; experience writing in a science based field; preference to those interested in health systems.




Hiring Range: $18.14 - $23.85 per hour
