We are seeking a full-time Human Resources Specialist in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for learning essential Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures while gaining a thorough understanding of Garmin's various business operations and segments. This role will assist and learn from Garmin's experienced HR professionals in various tasks, providing support in areas such as associate relations, management coaching, recruitment, onboarding, benefits/wellness, and compliance.
Essential Functions
Serve as a point of contact for associates regarding HR related inquiries, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and benefits
Assist in addressing associates concerns, helping to mediate discussions, and develop solutions that mitigate risk and uphold Garmin's values
Provide investigations support by assisting the HR Business Partner on internal investigations related to associate concerns including: gathering information, accurate documentation of findings, and providing updates to internal stakeholders
Participate in regular HR meetings with Legal, Associate Relations and other HR teams
Work within Garmin's HR systems to accurately execute tasks such as: maintaining associate records, processing requests, and updating internal process information
Assist with the administration of associate engagement surveys and analyzing feedback to identify areas for improvement
Learn, communicate, and enforce HR policies and procedures to associates
Partner closely with other HR team members and Centers of Excellence to support initiatives that enhance processes, associate satisfaction, and retention
Develop strong, trusted relationships with associates and leadership at all levels
Take initiative to learn and understand Garmin's complex business operations, goals, and challenges to better support associates and contribute to HR strategies
Recommend process improvements to continuously improve efficiency and customer service
Willingness to work off-hours, on occasion, if required due to business needs
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or another substantially similar discipline
Possess strong knowledge and/or experience within Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to prioritize, manage time, and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Must be detail-oriented, have the ability to work proactively/effectively with moderate supervision, exercise sound independent judgment/discretion, be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others
Must possess conflict resolution skills and be willing to assist with difficult problems in a timely and professional manner
Excellent written and oral communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work in-office, full-time and outside of core working hours as needed
Desired Qualifications
1+ years professional work experience within a Human Resource role
Knowledge and/or experience with multiple HRIS systems such as online benefits enrollment systems, Oracle HR Management systems, MS SharePoint, Confluence, Applicant Tracking Systems, Background and/or Drug and Alcohol screening systems
