We currently have a per diem Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant position supporting our Family/Adult Urgent Care department at our PMG/Plymouth practice. Under the direction of the department chief, the incumbent is a certified nurse practitioner (NP)/ physician assistant (PA) who possesses advanced training/skills in assessing, diagnosing, and treating the patient with both chronic and acute illness and disease. Works in a collaborative team practice that recognizes the patient as the central focus. Serves as a patient educator in areas of specialization.


Schedule: Weekdays, rotating weekends and some holidays.


Skills: Must exhibit strong critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and good patient interviewing skills. Highly motivated and self-directed. Ability to interpret clinical information, assess the implication of treatment and develop and implement a plan of care. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a rapidly changing environment with multiple demands. Up to date with current standard of nursing care in Specialty. Demonstrated excellence in practice, documentation and utilization. Maintain high patient satisfaction. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong computer skills.


Experience: Minimum of two years of ambulatory and / or urgent care nurse practitioner experience to include chronic disease management. Simple suturing, I&Ds, basic splinting, and IV experiences preferred. Experience with an electronic medical records system, EPIC experienced preferred


Education: Education: Nurse Practitioner (NP) Graduate of nationally accredited school of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Master of Science degree and Nurse Practitioner national certification from AANP or ANCC as an adult-gerontologic primary care nurse practitioner or by ANCC as family nurse practitioner. Possess a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and authorization to practice in the expanded role. Physician Assistant (PA) - Graduate of nationally accredited, Masters-level Physician Assistant program. Possesses/eligible for national certification as a Physician Assistant. Possesses/eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. NP/PA - Possession and maintenance of or eligibility for DEA and Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration. Must maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
