Performance Responsibilities:
1. Teach theoretical underpinnings and core content knowledge, aptitudes, concepts, technical and employ-ability skills as they apply to Natural Resources Trades
2. Develop instruction, activities, project-based learning, and work-based learning experiences
3. Deliver all aspects of the NYSED Approved CTE program leading to opportunities for students to earn a technical endorsement on a regents diploma
4. Teach relevant contextualized academic concepts and skills (integrated academics)
5. Instruct students in workplace competencies, citizenship, professional communication, and related skills
6.Develop and implement an assessment program with variety of frequent assessments to measure student growth and achievement
7. Manage the classroom to create an engaging, supportive, safe, orderly, and productive educational environment
8. Develop and implement procedures and processes to ensure safe use of supplies, tools, and equipment
9. Implement the student code of conduct
10. Participate in the NYSED Approval process of the Natural Resources Trades CTE program under the direction and supervision of the CTE principal and curriculum coordinator
11. Maintain information technology competency for the purposes of instruction (in-person and remote), assessment, record keeping, program evolution and to communicate with students, parents, and school personnel
12. Plan, requisition, control, store, maintain, and use materials, supplies and equipment as per applicable regulation, board of education policies, and school district procedures
13. Develop and maintain an advisory committee composed of area employers, post-secondary representatives, industry association members, local union representatives, and other related professionals to provide input toward curriculum, employ-ability skills, equipment purchases, license/certifications, technical skills, and industry standard practices
14. Comply with all state laws, NYSED regulations, board of education policies, student code of conduct, school district procedures and practices
15. Attend faculty meetings, participate in professional development, participate in committee work, and work collaboratively with colleagues to further the mission of the organization
16. Other duties as assigned by the principal
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually by Building Principal as per NYSED regulation, CABOCES BOE policy and collective bargaining agreement.
Salary:Starting at $41,970
Qualifications:
Hold and maintain NYS Certification in appropriate subject area and hold industry certifications and/or credentials appropriate to the field.
