Job Description:

We are looking for an Outreach and Community Engagement Specialists to join the Marketing and Communications team within the Office of Business and Finance. In this role, the Outreach and Community Engagement Specialist will work to serve as an extension of the provider practice by raising awareness as well as educating patients, and encouraging patients to schedule appointments to maintain excellent health.



Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct outbound calls and digital outreach (SMS, email) and video to patients to provide information and education about Meharry Medical Group services and resources.
• Manage inbound calls from potential patients.
• Achieve member enrollment goals as driven by company KPIs.
• Support patients by answering their questions, addressing their concerns, and providing guidance on how MMG can support their needs.
• Document all interactions and maintain timely, accurate records of patient outreach activities.
• Collaborate internally and externally with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure patients receive appropriate care and services.
• Work with families to schedule appointments and follow-up care as needed.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to stay current on healthcare trends and regulations.
• Facilitate scheduling patient office visits with providers for new and existing patients
• Interact with Enrollment Team Lead and provider practice to collaborate and share updates and insights regarding patients and patient panel
• Prepare community events to represent MMG
• Participate in community events representing MMG



Education and Experience:

• Associates degree required
• 2+ years of experience required in customer service or inside sales
• Previous healthcare experience required
• Personal demeanor that expresses empathy with a patient-focused mindset and engagement
• Proven adaptability in a high-volume sales space, ability to meet deadlines, and metrics
• Strong communication and telephonic skills
