GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Kirkwood Community College seeks a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Adjunct Instructor. Under minimal supervision, the instructor fosters student learning of Automotive Technology in a NATEF-certified program. Teaching assignments may include lecture and hands-on classes at multiple Kirkwood locations. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Automotive Technology. Teaching experience at the college level is desirable. For this position, the typical hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide instruction for Automotive Technology courses including using college-approved syllabi, assessments, and grading practices.
Effectively organize and prepare learning activities.
Evaluate and record student performance using Kirkwood's student learning platform.
Complete required trainings.
Communicate with Kirkwood staff, students, and faculty to ensure student success.

Effectively instruct and communicate material for the course.
Abide by and enforce safety rules when in a lab setting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of specialized training and at least 6,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience in Automotive Technology or related industry.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS :
Experience teaching at the college level or leading training sessions.
