The role of the position is two-fold: (1) manage DOT projects and relationships as pertaining to product approval, compliance, and recertification for the chemical and accessories product lines and (2) complete Market Analytics projects to support profitable growth across the company portfolio.
In addition, this position supports growth opportunities identified by Product Management and Sales by driving specifications, approvals, certifications, analytics and company reputation among targeted end-users and other influencers. Besides DOT, this includes architectural & engineering specifiers, the A/E community, and other entities that control and influence specifications, approvals and certifications that enable the profitable growth of Dayton Superior products.
To accomplish this mission, the Market Development Analyst aligns closely with:
VP Product Development & Strategy, VP Sales & Marketing, and all RVP Sales on knowledge priorities and impact plan
Product Management and the Engineering Team, with priority on DOT related business case development and new product commercialization
Technical Sales Representatives and the Sales Team on development of market insights, identification of targets, project planning and bid preparation
BI and other information sources on company analytics.
The scope of the Market Development Analyst encompasses the full portfolio of products, but the primary focus is driving revenue growth and profitability of chemicals. As a result of this focus, the position reports to the Product Manager, Chemicals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage strategy, planning and implementation of DOT related projects. Focus on chemicals, setting priority for high volume, high GM projects. Manage the cross-functional relationships driving DOT sales success (TSRs, Sales, Engineering)
Manage Market Analytics projects to support profitable growth across the company portfolio. Innovate reporting approaches to optimize insights and enable conclusions that drive action plans.
Manage and leverage the national database systems to achieve priorities (Reed Construction Data, PECWeb Reports, etc.).
Establish a data base of specifiers and contacts and maintain to current standards.
Manage the submittal process for product acceptance with DOT Qualified Products List (technical data, testing documentation, product sample submission, corresponding paperwork filing, etc.); gain approvals for targeted new and existing products.
In conjunction with Sales, create project bid packets utilizing Reed and PEC report project data; following up with appointments and other support as appropriate.
Participate in cross-functional project teams, planning meetings, trainings and other appropriate meetings to assure the team is connected with Sales priorities.
Be the company go-to expert on knowledge of industry trends, competitive products, and performance standards.
