As a researcher supporting the Materials Science Team in our client's Pharmaceutical R&D organization, you will have the opportunity to utilize your technical skills and expertise to enable the acceleration of drug product development. You will work both as an independent contributor and as part of a matrix technical team to deliver on a capability build project. This role is equivalent to an industrial post-doctoral research position.
Essential Functions:
Plans and drives experiments and technical workpackages to deliver a capability project to enable stability prediction and accelerated delivery of pharmaceutical dosage forms
Works with a matrix technical team to deliver the project
Proactively engage and seek assistance from other scientists to solve problems
Accurately captures work in laboratory notebook
Authors internal as well as external publications
Presents regular internal updates on project
Education and Experience:
At minimum, a PhD in the field of colloids, physical chemistry, rheology, interfacial phenomena, soft matter, and related disciplines
Experience in the field of rheology or suspension rheology.
Experience with microstructure characterization of solid and liquid dosage forms a plus, but not required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of core chemistry, physics, and physical chemistry principles
Research experience and publication track record in the disciplines listed above
Has knowledge of as well as practical experience with characterization of colloidal systems and dispersions using techniques such as (but not limited to) microscopy, rheology, tensiometry
