The Opportunity


  • Analyze data and identify patterns, combinations, and correlations between different aspects of the data to deliver value from operational data, customer data, and third-party data sources.
  • Transform complex datasets, both structured and unstructured, to deliver business insights
  • Perform descriptive, exploratory, and inferential statistical analyses as well as supervised and unsupervised machine learning.
  • Stay recent on new data science technology, methods, and analytics.
  • Present methods and data insights to business stakeholders.
  • Develop and support data ingestion pipelines and data tables for Data Science and analytics projects.
  • Automate data integration/ingestion, data table or model updates wherever possible.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers to understand data warehouse and EDW loading processes that impact data availability, construction, and quality.

Required Experience and Competencies


  • Master's Degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics, or similar quantitative field required.
  • Two (2) years of related work experience required.
  • Experience with big data platforms including Hadoop, Hive, and Spark required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform required.
  • Experience working with healthcare data preferred.
  • Experience with ETL tools (Databricks, Python, Talend) preferred.
  • Experience with BI solutions (QlikView, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects or similar) preferred.
  • Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
  • Skilled with programming and scripting: fluent in R and SSIS; Windows and Linux; and Version Control with Git and GitHub.
  • Deep understanding of the mathematical and theoretical foundations of statistical analysis and machine learning.
  • Strong practical knowledge of statistical data analysis techniques including descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, design of experiments, supervised and unsupervised machine learning.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; comfortable communicating with senior levels of both business and technology leadership.
  • Natural curiosity and a strong passion for empirical research and problem solving.
  • Consultative, collaborative, and solution-oriented with a strong focus on unmet business needs.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, PHI) as they relate to data management.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

We are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $109,440 - $139,535, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual corporate Success Sharing bonus program, which is based on the company's annual performance. If you are hired at Vituity, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
