This position plays a leading role in assisting with coordinating the day-to-day, task-orientated activities of the BOP Tools Technician department. This includes knowledge of the repair and certification process including documentation for all BOP's and/or downhole tools utilized in the district. Assists with ensuring tools, supplies and other job requirements are available and reliable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for high level knowledge and servicing of all blow out preventers, pack offs, reel swivels, lubricators, iron and down hole tools.
Responsible for performing and documenting all pressure tests for components after service.
Maintains a working knowledge of current processes and procedures and participates in training offered.
Organizes and maintains the facility, including the testing station and storeroom.
Assists management in developing a preventive maintenance system for these components.
Assists in support and training of procedures to ensure consistent practices and processes are followed.
Assists with monitoring of on-site Team Members duties, workload and performance and provides feedback to direct and indirect reports
Assists manager with inventory related duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) to five (5) years of oil field experience. Includes servicing BOP's and or downhole tools
Valid Driver's license with a clear record for at least 3 years.
Experience in managing expendable materials inventory.
Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent safety awareness.
Ability to work in a team environment and a fast-paced atmosphere.
Ability to manage time and prioritize duties.
Available and willing to travel.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent preferred.
