Job Title:Manager, Electronic Learning DevelopmentDepartment:Arts and Sciences | Distance Education

The Manager of Electronic Learning Development helps to lead initiatives in technology-enabled teaching across the College of Arts and Sciences (ASC) under the direction of the ASC Director of Distance Education and supervises multiple Electronic Learning Development Specialists and an Instructional Multimedia Production Senior Specialist. The manager helps to provide leadership and strategic vision in the areas of consultation and support models for instructional design, multimedia production, effective use of educational learning technologies in online, hybrid, and in person classes in both the credit and non-credit offerings within the college. The manager explores, assesses, and promotes emerging learning technologies' uses in teaching and learning to advance teaching and assessment practices within the college. In alignment with ASC Distance Education goals and the college's strategic vision, this role oversees a portfolio of technology-enabled teaching service offerings and provides key planning and project management for resource development. The manager works with the director to understand strategic needs within the college and directs instructional design support offered by the Office of Distance Education (ODE) according to those needs. The manager helps to provide support and long-term strategic visioning for faculty support and other design initiatives that contribute to wider goals for ASC ODE, continually improves instructional and multimedia design processes, maintains an active and growing services portfolio, provides insight into best practices for new and existing eLearning technologies, keeps current on non-credit learning opportunity design practices, collaborates with partners across the university to enhance ASC learning opportunities, as well as curates a set of training materials, workshops, and guidance articles in collaboration with other ODE staff and partners.



Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of combined professional experience in instructional design, teaching and learning, educational technology, training facilitation, and curriculum assessment, preferably in a higher education setting. Experience supporting the needs of diverse learners. Familiarity with industry-standard design models and frameworks and their applications in a range of disciplinary contexts. Experience connecting solutions to curricular goals through application of learning theories, integration of eLearning tools, and multimedia production practices. Understanding of processes for creation of instructional media assets. Experience tracking and creating data reports representing impact and value of work performed. Experience supervising a team across multiple functional areas.



Desired: Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of college and university academic rules and regulations. Project management experience. Use of Airtable for project and data tracking and reporting. Experience in curricular development, assessment, and faculty engagement. Familiarity with multimedia production and graphic design.

The pay range for this job profile is $64,300 - $84,550. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
