Job Description:
The Assistant Dean for Graduate & International Affairs leads two core programs within the law school: our Master of Laws (LLM) program, primarily for international students, and our Master in the Study of Law (MSL) program, primarily for working professionals. Duties include defining the strategic vision, providing leadership and oversight of the programs, and implementing all aspects of the programs.
A core member of the College's leadership team, this position also provides strategic guidance and collaborates with the Dean, helps LLM and MSL students integrate successfully into the College, and manages a staff supporting both programs.
The successful candidate will bring a dynamic, strategic vision to continually improve and better position both programs and, in turn, the College. The Assistant Dean is responsible for all programmatic phases of the programs, including developing and disseminating program information, recruiting and screening applicants, managing the admissions process, and academic advising and counseling of students. In this capacity, the Assistant Dean will collaborate regularly with other leaders in the College, including the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the College's Communications team.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Assistant Dean may include:
Identifying opportunities to proactively position the LLM and MSL programs and increase awareness of their academic excellence and community outreach through the development of external networks (for the LLM program, this could may include two to three international trips per year).
Advising and assisting designated Faculty Directors of the Oxford University summer and semester programs, including assistance with recruitment and admissions.
Providing advice and consulting to faculty interested in incorporating international focus and perspectives into their research or teaching.
Administering the Foundations program (an online program designed primarily to prepare prospective and incoming LLM students for matriculation at the College).
Interacting with the University's Office of International Affairs as a representative of the Moritz College of Law.
Administering the application and selection process for visiting international scholars.
Teaching the required legal writing courses in the LLM and/or MSL programs or other international-law courses.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required: Master of Laws (LLM) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree with two years of managerial experience.
Desired: Previous teaching experience, experience managing a non-JD program (ex: international academic program or master's program), and ability to develop a vision of revenue growth and innovation for a non-JD academic program.
