Social Worker to work as part of Medical Team assessing concerns for child maltreatment. Candidates with previous work in Child Welfare including Foster Care, Family Court/ Law Enforcement and Child Advocacy are well suited for this role. Medical setting experience is ideal. This social worker acts as a center of communication between health care providers and external systems responsible for ensuring the safety of children. Strong assessment and communication skills are a necessity. Active LMSW or LCSW required.
This social work position supports the CARE (Children At Risk Evaluation) Team and works both with patients and families as well as multiple community agencies including Child Welfare agencies and Law Enforcement. The focus is on the clinical assessment of child maltreatment and the coordination of support for these patients within their families and community partners.
This position is responsible for providing comprehensive Social Work services to patients and their families. Core functions include psychosocial assessment and support of patient/family coping skills; protective and advocacy services; and linkage to community resources. These services are provided in accordance with the policies, procedures, and guidelines established by Nemours Children's Hospital and its Social Work Department.
Qualifications-
Master's Degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
Active License to practice Social Work is required.
