Job Description:

The Calvin University School of Business is seeking a full-time, tenure-track finance faculty member to join the university in July 2025.

The university seeks applicants with vibrant Christian faith who are dedicated to integration of that faith with their field of study.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

Ability to teach courses in finance including corporate and personal finance, valuation, investments, derivatives, private equity and debt
Expertise and practical experience in finance
Experience teaching with a variety of methods and instructional technology
Desire to help mentor and advise students
Willingness to serve as faculty sponsor for Knight Investment Management
Strong networks among finance executives

In 2021, the CUSB received a generous $22.25 million gift to build a new facility, strengthen its faculty, increase enrollment, and become a premier School of Business informed and guided by a Reformed Christian perspective. The CUSB has more than 700 students enrolled across its eight undergraduate majors (Accounting, Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Operations & Supply Chain Management) and two graduate programs (Master of Accounting and Master of Business Administration). Ideal candidates will hold a PhD or other terminal degree in finance. They are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level and have an active stream of relevant research and publication. Prior experience teaching at the master's level is preferred.

Faculty Responsibilities

Faculty members typically teach 24 semester hours per academic year. Faculty are expected to grow in Reformed Christian commitment, to pursue an active scholarly agenda, to teach effectively, and to serve the university, department, students, and the wider community. Candidates will be asked to affirm their commitment to the educational mission of Calvin University as a Christian liberal arts university in the Reformed tradition, affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church.
