About the Team
The Digital Experience Bolt-Ons team is looking for a Sr. System Engineer who is passionate about improving customer experience and has technical and leadership skills to define the work plan for standing up and building out the work on the new IDP platform. The team's mission is to develop and migrate the Digital Bolt-Ons and Wired Services applications from the various systems into common platforms. The team will work with marketing, business, and technology teams to implement this transition aligned to the Strategic Roadmaps in a phased delivery methodology.
About the Job
The Digital Experience Bolt-Ons team is looking for a Lead Software Engineer who is passionate about improving customer experience and has technical and leadership skills to lead the development to execute on the product roadmap. The position will lead delivery and development functions for this critical suite of functions to deliver the business needs and to support the modernization of these function to the latest technology platforms. This is a lead developer position you will be expected to code along with reviewing others code for errors.
Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View
Knowledgeable in the end-to-end delivery process for software applications/services, including design, development, testing, deployment, production application support (e.g., troubleshooting) and maintenance. Provide guidance to gather and review software requirements/user stories, develop estimates, create software design specifications, and assess/test hardware and software interactions. Execute a specific development methodology through application of multiple programming languages and databases. Provide guidance to create and execute automated test plans/strategies, and validate test environments, test data and test results, design and implement code. Responsible for code quality, development velocity and improvement of quality. Responsible for identifying tech debt and reducing it as part of the scrum deliverables. Works with product manager and developers to estimate story points for stories (using reference story & Fibonacci sequence) as part of the scrum. Assigns features, stories to releases taking inputs from product manager. Works as a lead developer setting an example in their coding techniques and code reviews.
Qualifications - External
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Technical:
API Development: 5+ years of experience building APIs with Mulesoft, desirable but not required.
API Documentation: 5+ years of experience with API documentation tools, preferably Swagger.
API Monitoring: 5+ years of experience in API monitoring and dashboards using ELK and Dynatrace.
Testing: 5+ years of experience in unit and functional testing using Junit, Mockito/JMock, Selenium, and Cucumber.
Microservices: 5+ years of experience in event-driven microservice architecture using Kafka.
Programming: 5+ years of experience with Java, RESTful APIs, Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Kafka, microservices, database technologies, and related testing tools/methodologies.
Version Control: Advanced Git skills and experience with branching strategies.
Databases: Knowledge of relational databases including SQL, Oracle, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL.
Data Handling: Experience with data manipulation, migration, and scrubbing.
File Management: Experience with flat file staging and uploading.
Web Technologies: Understanding of JSON, XML, SoapUI, and Postman.
Cloud and NoSQL: Experience with Azure cloud and NoSQL databases, preferably Cosmos DB.
UI Development: Exposure to UI development using jQuery, ReactJS, JSON, and JavaScript.
Agile Methodologies: Experience working with Agile/Scrum/Kanban development teams and tools such as Itrack and ADO.
Collaboration: Ability to work with leads, engineers, architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to identify technical and functional needs based on priority.
Coding Standards: Commitment to writing high-quality code with a focus on automated testing and validation.
Communication: Excellent communication skills and experience in collaborative environments.
Our Lead-Software Engineers earn between $143,800-$215,800. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
