Role Summary
The Senior Project Manager is required to work within the Investments business predominantly supporting Investments and Trading initiatives managing across multiple business and technology teams across the front and back offices. This involves working closely with the Investments leadership to conduct analysis, have a deep understanding of the business, their priorities and represent them in key discussions and provide transparency on all related projects.
The Project Manager will require a good understanding of an Asset Management firm’s front office, have proven experience in conducting and producing quality analysis and delivering projects across Investments. The person will also need excellent communication skills, be detailed oriented, very hands on and have experience of leading activities, working collaboratively and producing quality deliverables.
Job Responsibilities:
Actively build SME across key Investments businesses, processes, and systems to effectively represent Investments in a variety of projects to influence, hold to account and provide transparency.
Lead collaborative partnerships and dialog across multiple business units and functions.
Actively promote alignment and compliance with related programs and projects across Legal, Compliance and the wider firm.
Demonstrate management expertise and exercise influence to identify, evaluate, and recommend current/potential projects to ensure access to accurate information for consumption by clients, regulators, and other critical stakeholders.
Develop the strategy for managing the timeline and budget consisting of multiple, concurrent projects with multiple deliverables and components across a multi-year period, in conjunction with the business sponsor and other stakeholders.
Proactively collaborate with the sponsors to identify, approve, and prioritize all projects and deliverables throughout the lifecycle of the program.
Build excellent working relationships with teams as required.
Lead and facilitate project discussions and meetings, ensuring they are task oriented, and objective driven to ensure the efficient use of everyone’s time who are involved.
Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria.
Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects.
Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall and integrated delivery plan.
Work collaboratively, with business and technology teams and stakeholders, to conduct analysis and produce detailed project artifacts including requirements documents, process maps and flows, testing artifacts and other documentation as required.
Business Knowledge:
Oversees end-to-end project management activities for large-scale, complex projects, with oversight for the full project life cycle. Manages the progress and contributions of workstream leads or subordinate project managers to ensure all activities deliver expected value within committed time frames and budget. Manages contingencies between multiple workstreams and monitors interdependencies and synergies where required.
Builds and synthesizes highly detailed project plans, budgeting and forecasting models, or resource plans requiring significant stakeholder management skills and interpretation of diverse and varied information. Develops statements of work, stakeholder management plans, guiding principles, project goals, risks, resource allocation, and roles and responsibilities for assigned projects.
Secures, leads, motivates, and inspires the internal and external resources required to effectively deliver the project. Establishes the program’s governance (e.g., sponsors, approvers, stakeholders). May participate in the evaluation, selection, and management of external resources or vendors. Provides transparency in project progress and effectively anticipates and mitigates major risks across the project life cycle. Proactively crafts feasible solutions to combat risks and issues. Manages the progress and contributions of workstream leads or subordinate project managers to ensure all activities deliver expected value within committed time frames and budget.
Works with all required functions and groups to effectively plan and execute the project(s). Drives all project operational checkpoints. May coordinate resources across organizational boundaries. Develops tools and training methods to enable successful project management throughout the enterprise. Ensures project delivery is in conformance with company methodologies and standards; recommends improvements and changes as necessary.
Evaluates project/program costs and benefits, including actual results and forecasts with comparisons to original or baseline plan; updates plans with accurate, up-to-date information in a timely manner. Reports financial information and status to required management. Monitors project results/performance for significant deviations, evaluates options, and makes recommendations for corrective actions; implements selected actions.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience working in Financial Services or Investment Management
5+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Likely to have a project management qualification (PMP, Prince II etc.).
Front Office Investment Management experience
Asset Management experience.
Has worked closely with Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Analysts, and other members of an Investment Manager’s front office in a project manager capacity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to collaborate with people across multiple locations. .
FINRA Requirements
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to two days per week from home.
Base salary ranges:
$114,500.00 - $195,000.00 for the location of: California, New York $100,500.00 - $171,500.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C $91,500.00 - $156,500.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
