Registered Nurse (RN), Cardiac Surgical Stepdown Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital(MGH) in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description:

• Ellison 8 is a cardiac surgical step-down unit.


• Seeking an experienced RN for this 36-bed adult population unit, caring for patients with all aspects of heart disease appropriate for surgical intervention.


• Common diagnosis includes coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, aortic disease and congenital heart disease. Patients on Ellison 8 are after heart surgery, including: coronary artery bypass graft, valve replacement, Heart Transplant and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) placement. Patient teaching is strongly emphasized with respect to cardiac risk factor modification.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN required


• BSN strongly preferred


• Must have at least one year of nursing experience


• Telemetry experience is preferred


• Must be able to work day/night rotation including weekends and holidays
