About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Driver to join our team at our Columbus DC location. As a Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials to various locations in a safe and timely manner. You will be required to operate a variety of vehicles, including tractor trailers and box trucks, while adhering to DOT regulations and transportation management guidelines. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition.
We are also seeking a "backup" driver, who will cover vacations and call offs for routes, and work in the warehouse while not on the road.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A
Proven experience as a professional driver
Excellent driving record
Ability to read maps and follow directions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with warehousing and logistics
Familiarity with GPS devices and electronic logging systems
Ability to operate a forklift or other warehouse equipment
Responsibilities:
Operate a variety of vehicles, including tractor trailers and box trucks, to transport goods and materials to various locations
Adhere to DOT regulations and transportation management guidelines to ensure safe and timely delivery of goods
Read maps and follow directions to determine the most efficient routes for delivery
Inspect vehicles before and after each trip to ensure they are in good working condition
Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance
Skills:
As a Driver, you will use your skills in truck driving, DOT regulations, transportation management, and map reading on a daily basis. You will also need to have a valid CDL Class A license and a strong driving record. Additionally, experience with dump trucks and box trucks is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential for this role, as you will be interacting with customers and colleagues regularly.
