Job Description:

Boise Cascade is looking for a Lumber Sales Manager to manage the sales activities for Lumber, Landscape Timbers, and Core Sales from plywood mills. 


Responsibilities: 



  • Manages and develops sales representatives responsible for approximately 100-120 MMbf of production per year.

  • Responsible for the sales of commodity lumber out of Boise cascade’s Kettle Falls Lumber complex.

  • Responsible for the sales of plywood residuals (landscape timbers and cores) from eight plywood mills.

  • Develops short-term and long-term goals for the department. Involved in the problem-solving process.

  • Develop scheduling tools, learns and uses PowerBI or other applications to make data-based decisions and monitor performance.

  • Some travel related to mill visits, customer visits and attending trade shows.

  • Works with the mills to develop accurate forecasting models.

  • Reviews pricing and volume to be sold into the market.

  • Communicates with the mills on cutting schedules, product mix, order files, market trends and production opportunities.

  • Monitors transportation rates to determine how competitive Boise is in the market. Meet with transportation personnel internally and externally.

  • Responsible for administration, investigation, including onsite inspections, and settlement of product performances and/or customer complaints relating to lumber and plywood products.

  • Provides employee support, coaching, and training to achieve department objectives and Boise Cascade’s values.


 


Qualifications: 


College degree, or equivalent work experience in related job function. Five (5) to seven (7) years experience in related job functions, experience and desire to lead a team are a plus.
