As a result of our growth strategy, Amerisure is recruiting for a Senior Associate Underwriter to join our team in Tampa, FL. This role will be hybrid, working Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the local office.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists with the territory/agency book management processes which will include support in marketing, evaluating, and pricing of new and renewal business within Amerisure target classes and per the direction of the assigned underwriter. Operates as a key point of contact and liaison between the underwriter and their assigned agency support contacts. Provides underwriting support through collaboration with internal and external customers to assure compliance with company standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently price and deliver renewal quotes within authority grant including completion file documentation.
Approve endorsement requests within authority.
Review applications, analyze new business, and prepare information for rating.
Prepare renewals for accounts by creating loss summary, reviewing key losses, updating renewal exposures, and collecting required information for use in 120-day reviews.
Create quote proposal using the rating information provided by the support team.
Evaluate new and renewal accounts, including loss runs, motor vehicle reports, credit scores, and risk management surveys using a variety of underwriting tools and systems.
Participate in agency visits with marketing underwriters and service teams on an as needed basis.
Order risk management and financial analysis as needed.
Check rating and forms for accuracy and provide experience and composite rating.
Prepare accounts for policy issuance.
Facilitate communication between the agency and Amerisure to obtain necessary information.
Act as service point of contact for assigned agencies and underwriters to respond to inquiries and as primary point of contact when underwriters are unavailable.
Serves as a key relationship steward with agency support staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree or equivalent years of experience.
Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) designation preferred.
Business or insurance related internship experience preferred.
Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.
Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization and with external customers.
Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
Demonstrated successful ability to input data with a high accuracy rating, and strong attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
