Institutional Work Study Student-Front Desk Assistant/Math Tutor

Upward Bound is seeking (1) Institutional Work Study student at 20 hours per week for the Fall 2024/Spring 2025 terms on the Heber Springs Campus. Duties include: provide support to the Upward Bound department by assisting with copying, filing, preparing recruitment packets, mail, and other general office duties. Also, the student would spend up to 5 hours a week performing math and science tutoring to a portion of the high school students that we serve.

Basic computer skills; proficient in high school math and science courses, preferably having completed College Algebra to serve our advanced students.

$11.00 per hour

This position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal, sex-offender registry background check. In cases where pre-determined, an additional financial/credit history/ background check may be required as well. Convictions that have been sealed or legally eradicated and misdemeanor convictions for which probation was completed and the case was dismissed, will be excluded. Disclosure does not constitute an automatic bar to employment. Factors such as dates of the offense, seriousness and nature of the violation, rehabilitation and position applied for will be taken into account.
