WHAT YOU'LL DO 


As an Ascend Learning Human Resources (HR) Intern, you will play a key role in assisting our talent acquisition efforts and supporting our high-performance culture. This entry-level internship is designed for individuals who are passionate about starting a career in HR, with a specific focus on recruiting, and additional HR support where needed. You will work closely with experienced HR professionals and business leaders, gaining hands-on experience in HR functions.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK 


This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Leawood, KS office location. This will be for a Spring 2025 paid internship.  


HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME 



  • Assisting with the talent acquisition process. Responsibilities will include assisting with job postings, sourcing, candidate screening, interview coordination and other opportunities. 

  • Engaging with potential candidates on social networks (e.g., LinkedIn). 

  • Providing administrative support for various stages of the hiring process. 

  • Collaborating with team members to improve candidate experience and streamline recruitment processes. 

  • Provide ongoing project and administrative support to HR team as needed. 

  • Assist in the documentation of standard operation procedures across various HR disciplines. 







            WHAT YOU'LL NEED 



            • Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a bachelor’s program in human resources, business administration, or a related field. 

            • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week for the duration of the internship. 

            • An interest in recruiting, sourcing, talent acquisition, or other areas of HR. 

            • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with candidates and team members. 

            • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple recruitment tasks efficiently. 

            • A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn about the recruitment lifecycle. 

            • Familiarity with social media, resume databases, and professional networks preferred. 

            • A high level of discretion and an ethical approach to confidential candidate information. 

            • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 

            • No prior HR or recruiting experience is necessary.
