The Financial Crimes Risk Regulatory Portfolio team supports our stakeholders in resolving regulatory matters in a timely and thorough manner by leveraging best practices to improve the efficacy and quality of responses to regulatory requirements and actions. The team partners with issue owners and accountable executives to draft action plans and narrative responses designed for success, provide challenge on closure materials to confirm the work done addresses regulatory commitments, review exam materials and responses. The team also conduct analysis that highlights any connections between issues or between regulatory actions so that those dependencies are appropriately cared for. Key functions include regulatory impact analysis, review and challenge, oversight and governance, issue connectivity analysis, execution and delivery, and exam support. This role will work across the financial crimes risk regulatory portfolio, including such stakeholders as FCRM and other Independent Risk Management divisions, line of business and enterprise functions owners, Risk Transformation and Execution, Legal, Regulatory Relations, Control Executive teams, and Internal Audit. The candidate selected for this role will be responsible for having a strong understanding of the current and evolving regulatory environment to be able to advise on narrative responses and action plans, other regulatory responses, success criteria, closure materials, regulatory issue connectivity, execution status, governance expectations and will collaborate across many areas in the Bank conduct deep analysis and provide strong written and verbal communication.
In this role you will:
Lead cross functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute a variety of programs, services, and initiatives.
Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate.
Review strategic approaches and effectiveness of support function and business performance.
Perform assessments through fact finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations.
Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business group's functional area or products, facilitate decision making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans.
Collaborate and consult with members of the Business Execution team and team leaders to drive strategic initiatives.
Influence, guide, and lead less experienced Strategy and Execution staff within the group.
Required Qualification(s):
5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualification(s):
The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years' experience as a banking regulator and/or at a large financial institution, Big 4 Public Accounting or advisory or law firm leading regulatory affairs, and/or exam management activities.
5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, financial-crimes, regulatory, or compliance experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills across all levels, including senior executive-level leaders.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple responsibilities, tasks, and complex projects while meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
Ability to work independently as well as be an engaged and contributing team member.
Outstanding problem solving with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives.
Knowledge and understanding of financial crimes compliance and complex regulatory/compliance issues within large financial services institutions.
Strategic experience standing up and defining complex, enterprise-wide, compliance initiatives at the Program level, which require close partnership with compliance and audit functions.
Experience managing and resolving issues, risks, scope, schedule, dependencies, assumptions, and communications, including carrying out risk management, mitigation, and planning across large projects.
Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
