SUMMARY
The Patients’ Rights Office (PRO) within the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health is looking for a Health Program Analyst I (HPA I) to represent the department at Board of Supervisor weekly meetings and Mental Health Commission meetings to assist constituents by providing community resources, linkage to mental health services and general support. Receive inquiries from client’s family members and client’s themselves regarding DMH services and providers. Provide representation to mental health clients at Certification Review Hearings and Medication Capacity Hearings. The HPA I will be responsible for preparing patient position and testimony by gathering and analyzing facts and information relevant to the hearings, such as holds and medical records, as well as interviewing patients to obtain information which may or may not be presented in hearings.

Education/Experience
Option I: A Bachelor's degree from an *accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, Health Care Administration/Management, Public Administration, Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a closely related field --AND-- two years of experience performing assignments in mental health or public health program analysis.
A Master's degree from an *accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, Health Care Administration/Management, Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, or a closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience in the analysis of mental health or public health programs. This is only applicable to option I.
Option II: Four years of experience performing assignments in mental health or public health program analysis.
