Job Description

Senior Website Tagging Specialist

Bose is looking for an experienced expert that can perform analysis of complex the tagging plans and act as the functional owner of the tagging plan, implement tags by mastering Javascript, be an advisor to the media agencies and internal business analytics teams. Work with stakeholders and cross functional teams to prioritize and process tagging requests as needed by the business.

Bose runs two distinct tag managers on its global websites: Google Tag Manager and Adobe Launch. A very small team runs the global tagging management operations, end2end. Tags include: media tags, marketing tags, measurement tags, analytics tags.

Senior Website Tagging Specialist responsibilities



  • Tagging plan: oversee, manage, expand the tagging plan.


  • Tracking architecture: write recommendations for Google Tag Manager architecture (e.g. moving server-side for support)


  • KPI measurement plan: write recommendations on requirements, also act as an advisor for new requests (e.g., MyBose account funnel tracking).


  • Data layer: connecting all consumers of the data layer (technical teams / media agencies / digital analysts / Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization). Define recommendations about usage of the tags and new tagging requests (use existing vs create new tags/variables/events).


  • Data layer dev changes: Write detailed briefings and instructions for developers for every tagging and data layer change.


  • Media tags: Implementing media tags, quality assurance and optimization for all media tags, actively working with the media agencies for all tagging requests. Understand Google's Floodlight tagging framework very well, Facebook tagging frameworks (both client side and server side cAPI), GA4.


  • Troubleshooting with media agencies: very often, there are tags that are not firing or reports not populating (as experienced frequently in recent months).


  • Commission Junction: Running, adjusting, optimizing the Commission Junction programs in Tag Manager and Adobe Launch. Both have a very different technical setup. There is no other expertise in Bose that is familiar with any of the two setups.


  • Processes: streamlining processes every time there are new tools, new resources, system changes.

All of the above in 2 distinct tagging systems, Adobe Launch + Tag Manager, with 2 distinct implementations for media tags / Commission Junction / website data layer.

Moreover, there are 2 Tag Manager implementations: eCommerce and Experience Cloud.
