About the Position:
Maintenance associates provide support to all maintenance staff by being responsible for repairs, maintenance, and reliability of machines and equipment. This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in industrial maintenance and gain hands-on experience with a variety of machinery.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment under the supervision of senior maintenance staff
Remove and replace saw blades, electrical motors, hydraulic motors, servo actuators, flux capacitors, light bulbs and machine belts
Troubleshoot and diagnose minor mechanical issues and report findings to senior maintenance personnel
Maintain log sheets for periodic maintenance task
Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed and parts used
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Checking and changing oils on machines
Troubleshoot and diagnose minor mechanical issues and report findings to senior maintenance personnel
Perform general building maintenance duties as required
Routine clean up of oil spills or hazardous materials
Blowing out filter elements or replacing as needed
Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment as needed
Installation of electrical or ethernet cables
Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation of machinery
All other duties that may be assigned pertaining to facilities and maintenance role
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, lift, bend, twist, walk, and reach frequently, as well as kneel or crawl
Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Ability to work at heights of 40' or more (no fear of heights)
Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.). The plant is not climate controlled
Qualification Requirements:
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, machinery maintenance mechanic tools
Must be able to identify color coded wiring
Must be able to work at height above 20-feet
Use of ladders and powered industrial scissor lift and forklift
Able to work in small spaces
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced maintenance staff
Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs), stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions
High school diploma/GED required
Previous experience in a maintenance or mechanical role is a plus but not required
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
