SA-TECH supports a dynamic U.S. Navy Directorate specializing in design, research, development, testing, and evaluation of experimental watercraft for military clients. We provide full-spectrum Operations and Maintenance support of various combatant craft, patrol boats, Special Operations Forces platforms and coastal craft, ensuring performance and fleet readiness.


Additionally, SA-TECH provides full-scale Government facility support to include operations management, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Environmental, Health, Safety, and Hazmat (EHS) program oversight, and administrative, material acquisitions, and financial support.


We are currently seeking to hire a Supply/Warehouse Manager to serve as a department head for our facility at Naval Station Norfolk, VA. In this role you would have Department Head responsibilities that include (but are not limited to) personnel training, staffing, shift scheduling, daily status reporting, and submission of contract deliverables.


Basic requirements include (but are not limited to):

  • Direct supervision of 2-4 departmental personnel and accountable for the accurate documentation, receipt, stock, inventory, issue, and shipment of facility tools and material
  • Develop and execute policies, procedures, documentation, and systems that maintain positive control of all facility tools and material
  • Develop and execute policies, procedures, documentation, and systems allowing for 100% accurate tool and material location and inventory
  • Establish material high/low inventory thresholds triggering reordering of frequently issued items
  • Responsible for overall warehouse cleanliness and intelligent organization and storage of tools, equipment, and material
  • Assist in research, quote, source, and procurement of parts, equipment, and subcontracted services on behalf of government customer
  • Provide status reports as requested to senior management and customer
  • Chair monthly meetings with management and customer to brief departmental scope of work, achievements, shortfalls, process improvements, and issues

Work Conditions:

  • Work will be performed in enclosed buildings, office areas, and industrial warehouse environment.
  • Activity will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and reaching.
Requirements:

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Ten (10) years' experience in supply/warehousing/controlled inventory operations.
  • Four (4) years' experience in inventory/supply/warehousing operations supervisory role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Supply chain management education and experience preferred.
  • Prior/Retired active duty military veterans in Supply-Logistics Rating/MOS encouraged to apply.
  • Professional certification in supply, inventory, or process improvement preferred (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, CPSM, CPIM, CSCP).
  • Must be self-motivated, process-oriented, and have excellent time management skills.
  • Requires personal accountability, diligent record-keeping, as well as an ability to effectively task and lead a small team.
  • Extreme dedication to inventory accuracy and safekeeping of material.
  • Ability to become proficient in operation of warehouse equipment to include pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Software Suite to include Excel and Outlook.
  • Must have experience with populating, maintaining, and operating electronic asset management databases and inventory management software.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Secret Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
