University Enrollment Services (UES) supports the academic and student services missions of Indiana University by developing, coordinating, and managing university-wide shared services in the areas of admissions & transfer operations, financial aid, student records & data management, and military & veteran affairs. UES works closely with campus-based partners to enhance customer service; implement best practices; drive student-related technology development; comply with federal, state, and institutional guidelines; and support their overall enrollment and retention goals. This team uses data to identify new opportunities and to prioritize work, which drives innovation and creates efficiency across the University.
Job Summary
Admissions Credentials Representatives perform a variety of duties related to the initial assessment and review of applications for admission into Indiana University. Admissions Credentials Representatives are responsible for the maintenance of academic records which includes the review of transcripts from high schools, colleges, and universities, as well as testing agencies and inputting data into the Student Information System.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Monitors volume of admissions related documents and assists with data entry and processing tasks on a daily basis for all IU campuses.
Maintains a working knowledge of admissions processing procedures for all 9 IU campuses.
Assists with occasional high-level tasks such as suspense work, auditing, and any additional tasks that may be assigned.
General Responsibilities
Calculates the grade point averages and, if necessary, class standing; notes explanation of grading system used by previous institution.
Codes information in applications for data entry; updating and correcting information as necessary.
Completes route sheet including notes on academic background and previous institutions attended; determines IU equivalencies for courses taken.
Notes comments of standardized test scores; evaluates English ability if a foreign student.
Reviews any additional information submitted after the initial review and takes appropriate action.
Processes credit transfer agreements and credit transfer reports.
Assists in maintaining library of information on academic institutions.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Work Location
Bloomington campus or Indianapolis campus
This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
