We are seeking a Tier 2 Thermal Technical Support Engineer to strengthen technical support team for all Liebert thermal products. Leading support across mechanical, electrical, quality, monitoring, and controls. Lead in the troubleshooting of direct expansion, chilled water, high density, and liquid cooling systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in thermal dynamics, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the support and advanced trouble shooting of thermal management systems.
Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting technical growth within the team.
Work closely with R&D and Offering to integrate new technologies and solutions into existing systems effectively.
Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance thermal management processes and drive continuous improvement.
Oversee implementation of upgrade/retrofit programs first article testing in the lab or at customer sites.
Identify and resolve issues related to thermal performance, including diagnosing, and addressing problems in thermal products.
Provide technical support across mechanical, electrical, quality, monitoring, and control systems to ensure seamless integration and performance of thermal solutions.
Onsite travel to address escalated issues and/or attend customer meetings.
Lead the development and maintenance of technical documentation, and support content for thermal products.
Communicate effectively to understand customer needs, provide technical support, and resolve issues, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Lead or participate in NPDi Serviceability Review for new thermal product offerings.
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in thermal management and cooling systems and provide recommendations for incorporating these advancements into current processes.
Stay abreast of HVAC and AHRI codes and standards for thermal products.
Stay informed about new products, revisions, updates, and upgrades that may affect product operation.
Lead special projects and assignments as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Thermal Dynamics, or a related field required.
Minimum of five years experience interacting with customers on a technical level required.
Working knowledge of Direct expansion, chilled water, high density, and liquid cooling systems.
Experience and Knowledge of Vertiv thermal products is a plus.
Experience with HVAC system ancillary controls like BMS, MODBUS, CAN communications, and PLC is a plus.
Deep expertise in thermal dynamics and proven ability to optimize complex thermal systems.
At least 5 years of experience in thermal management.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to direct, build, and lead technical teams.
Possess a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
Detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision.
Proficient PC skills including all Microsoft Office products and web-based technologies.
Must be able to read and interpret electrical diagrams, piping drawings and blueprints.
Strong skill sets: Customer service skills, troubleshooting skills, Safety minded, Microsoft Office and web-based technology, Mechanical aptitude.
