Job Description:

Position Summary:

This is a twelve-month exempt, at-will, full-time position with the primary responsibilities of assisting the Project Director in implementing three major projects to improve outcomes for Hispanic and low-income students at ASU:
(1) develop and deliver dual credit and college preparation programs;
(2) increase student persistence via campus-wide success coaching; and
(3) advance faculty and staff cultural responsiveness.
In addition to assisting the Project Director, the Activity Coordinator collaborates with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely and successful completion of project activities and in compliance with federal reporting requirements.

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

  • Assist the Project Specialist with maintaining records as per grant policy and operational functions.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports as required to assist PD.
  • Ensure federal, state, and institutional compliance with grant activities.
  • Perform duties as assigned to conduct grant business daily.

Liaison:

  • Collaborate with school administrators/counselors and ASUs Concurrent Enrollment Department to develop and implement the dual credit Ascender Scholars program.
  • Implement campus coaching initiative in coordination with the Success Coordinator/Advisor.
  • Work in partnership with the Inclusive Excellence Liaison and ASUs School of Education to assist with professional development in cultural responsiveness and summer academy college preparation and retention programming.
  • Participate in university committees and facilitate task force meetings as required or assigned.

Event support:

  • Organize, develop and conduct relevant events, speaker events, and other programs to facilitate the grant projects.

Communications:

  • Serve as a point of contact, will answer program questions from faculty, staff, and students, and serves as liaison to the campus, community agencies, and the general public.
  • Assemble and disseminate information as necessary for carrying out grant activities including creating, composing, and editing documents, and presentations.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Assist the PD with data analysis for in-depth federal reporting.
  • Direct the collection of project data by working with various ASU campus constituents in the development and adherence to grant metrics by creation and maintenance of databases
  • Develop and administer satisfaction surveys in coordination with assessment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required (Masters preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with and sensitivity to underserved student/population needs. Experience with federal grant management preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in K12 and/or higher education, including program development, management, and evaluation.
  • Grant or relevant project management experience required, at an IHE preferred.
  • Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegiality with employees, students, and the community. This includes the ability to use appropriate conflict management skills to effectively manage any disagreement that might arise or to bring the disagreement to management for assistance in productive resolution when the situation requires.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Experience working with schools, school counselors, and student advising for college or related administration required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success, equity in postsecondary education.
  • Proven leadership and management skills

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $42,252-$48,060.
