We are seeking a driven Senior Project Manager to join AEC. AEC is looking for experienced professionals to oversee federal environmental projects nationwide. Responsibilities will involve managing client relationships, budgets, schedules, and project resources. Responsibilities:
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide leadership in development of junior- to mid-level project managers.
Develop and implement procedures for planning, design, and personnel management to meet project objectives.
Manage all aspects of budgets, direct costs, and contingencies with established ability to provide project-level financial progress reports.
Interacts with existing and new potential clients to discuss AEC capabilities and expand services provided to meet our client needs.
Directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects.
Coordinates and manages subcontractors/field personnel.
Provides guidance in interpretation of data and compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Manage project invoicing and cash flow
Apply a working knowledge of data collection, management, and evaluation.
Clearly articulate technical recommendations to clients and regulatory agencies.
Develop comprehensive conceptual site models.
Apply a working knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA to projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, earth sciences, or a related field
Client management experience
15+ years of experience in environmental consulting
6+ years of experience on federal projects
Exceptional communication, teamwork, and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment
Ability to recommend approaches for new and improved processes
Preferred Qualifications
40-hour OSHA Hazwoper Training and current 8-hour refresher. Other OSHA training (30-hour construction) is valued.
Experience interacting with Federal agency Program Project Officers, Contracting Officers, Remedial Project Managers, and technical staff.
Established network and relationships within DoD Programs (USACE, AFCEC, etc.).
Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, and schedules
Professional licensure (PE, PG, PMP, CHMM)

Job is performed in a combination of office work, work throughout occupied and unoccupied buildings, and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Building assessments will be conducted throughout buildings including crawl spaces, attic spaces, and confined spaces. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
