Directs activities in the traffic area ensuring the accurate completion and processing of airway bills, customs documents, Hazmat and clearance. The Traffic Ops Manager is responsible for providing leadership, management, and improvement of the operations. This position is expected to enhance the financial performance of the operation by attaining higher levels of productivity, efficiency, and customer experience. Will interface with stakeholders and collaborates with a variety of other functional areas to deliver program and company results that achieve business goals and objectives. You will also collaborate with internal business stakeholders to create procurement logistic solutions that meet or exceed service and cost expectations and special projects as defined by management. Also, will be required to interact with all regulatory agencies to ensure operations is in compliance.
Job Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
Directs clerical staff in expediting import correspondence, airway bills, manifests and custom documents.
Processes import US Customs documentation associated with arriving flights as well as other government agency declarations including FDA, DOT, F&W, USDA.

Responsible for timely and accurate communication with all related parties including customer, government agency, and third-party transportation companies
Prepares and present reports on a regular basis
Follows up with clients to ensure full-service satisfaction and continued business.
Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendation to management
Hires and ensures training of new employees.
Oversees the documentation breakdown and delivery of cargo to customers, Export area, Domestic Stations, or Interline partners and airlines.
Arranges shipping details for import Transfers, Domestic stations, and Interline partners and airlines.
Expedites import arrangements and maintains current information on import tariffs, charges, and other regulatory organization requirements.
Oversees the Automated Manifest System (AMS) program and ensures the airline complies.
Oversees HAZMAT department.
Oversees the General Order Program and ensures the airline complies.
Performs employee reviews, coaches, councils, and assists employees to perform at their highest potential.
Tracks performance against established standards for all activities under immediate supervision.
Meets established cost benchmarks for the department.
Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills, Qualifications, Education and Experience:
Leadership Professionalism

Capable of generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports
Thorough understanding of all regulatory procedures

Must have be able to oversee multiple projects of the operations simultaneous
Strong organizational skills

Must be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
Detailed knowledge in cargo operations, ramp, warehouse, and air freight
Ability to read and interpret documents such as Bills of Lading and Airway Bills.
Must be experienced with all Import Regulations.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Experience communicating with various leaders of the organization
Knowledgeable of air and ocean carrier's as well as transportation companies including trucking companies and warehouses.
3+ years direct experience overseeing/managing Traffic Operations strongly prefer with an airline.
Hazmat material handling certification
IADA certification
Proficient with the Microsoft Suite
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred with a minimum of 5 to 10 years related experience or ten years minimum experience in a related field
Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets Amerijet's insurance standards.
Able to obtain SIDA badge.
Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will have direct reports and is considered a leader within the company. Will be required to train and support a team to achieve departmental goals.
Language Skills:
The employee must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions, and proficiently write reports and business correspondence.
Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort required.
Must be able to work well under pressure. Domestic/International travel and overtime are required when necessary.
