Job Description for Gastroenterology

Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The staff physician in the clinical track is responsible for providing direct inpatient and outpatient care to GI and Hepatology patients. He/she will provide outpatient clinical and endoscopic services to those patients who require Gastroenterology/ Hepatology services, and or Gastroenterology screening procedures. In addition provider will do rotating evening and holiday on call, as well as rotating as needed on the GI or Hepatology inpatient services, as deemed necessary by the chief of service.
Outline of additional responsibilities include but are not Limited to:
Maintain outpatient clinic and endoscopic procedures at UHealth locations
Reading of Motility Procedures generated through the hospital motility laboratory
Qualifications:
MD Degree and ACGME US internal medicine internship and residency
Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine (or board eligible)
Board Certification in Gastroenterology (or board eligible)
Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing)
Valid DEA licensure
Current BLS certification required. ACLS
Must be able to provide prerequisite case logs for procedures for prior two years for credentialling
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements
Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care
Close encounters within 72 hours.
