POSITION PURPOSE

The Dispatcher oversees the scheduling, staging, tracking and reporting of the Division's daily activity and coordinates this activity with customers and Division employees. This position assists with getting work crews, equipment and materials to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs. The Dispatcher also completes several administrative tasks for the Division.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Sunland's Core Values at the forefront.
  • Schedule and assign work crews, vehicles and equipment for projects daily.
  • Coordinate operations between customers and departments.
  • Receive and prepare work orders.
  • Order materials and/or subcontractors to perform/complete jobs.
  • Monitor job progress and assist with maintaining production schedule. .
  • Relay completion dates to Accounting and Sales.
  • Process production accounts payable invoices promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain written logs, files and computer documentation regarding projects.
  • Relay work orders, messages and information to, or from, work crews and supervisors.
  • Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems and requests.
  • Act as liaison between own division/supervisor and others, such as other departments, external contacts, clients, etc.
  • Handle questions and complaints from customers and/or employees.
  • May perform basic administrative and clerical functions, which could include filing, copying, binding reports, simple typing, etc.
  • Assist with new hire paper work and coordinating orientation.
  • Assist with Division training.
  • Act as the point of contact for Division employees.
  • Any and all other duties assigned.

Safety


  • This position is considered a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OHSA regulations.
  • All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines at all times as an essential part of their job responsibilities.

Physical Demands and Work Environment


  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office environment utilizing standard office equipment including a computer.
  • Stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
  • Strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.
  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


  • This is a full time position.

Travel


  • No travel required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) to three (3) years industry related experience preferred.
  • Strong computer, written and oral skills required.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Must be fluent in English, i.e., must be able to speak, read and write English.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations


  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required.
