Power Plant Technician 2
The City of Orrville — Department of Public Utilities seeks applicants for a Power Plant Technician 2. This is skilled work in the Maintenance and Operation of high-pressure steam boilers, turbines, fuel and ash systems and other equipment in an electrical power generation plant. Workers are responsible for participating in the operation of turbines and other plant equipment independently. Positions in this class must have sufficient technical and mechanical knowledge to regularly exercise independent judgment in meeting unusual emergency conditions. Work is involved in the skilled installation and maintenance of utility plant equipment, buildings and systems. Work at this level involves troubleshooting and repairing equipment either alone or with the aid of other individuals.
Pay range $28.97 - $36.24/hour, plus benefits.
Qualifications: Graduation from high school (or GED), preferably including or supplemented by courses in mathematics and physics; supplemented by electrical, mechanical, welding, or other trades; certification in 2 or more maintenance trades, including but not limited to Industrial Maintenance, Machining, Welding, Electric, HVAC, or Instrumentation and Controls; considerable experience in skilled and semi-skilled mechanical and/or electrical equipment and utility maintenance tasks, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills. Applicants must be a United States Citizen or have legally declared their intentions of becoming a United States Citizen.
Must have a valid Ohio Drivers' license. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation and be drug free. You will not be given any other notice or reminder regarding this exam.
