As the owner of the project plan and information, you must be a talented communicator who can successfully communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization from the shop floor to executives as well as our customers and suppliers.
CAID is a matrix organization, and this requires you to successfully articulate and negotiate resource needs with multiple departments and personality types.
Our projects are technical in nature, and you must possess the ability to understand and communicate complex details related to drawings, specifications, codes, processes, and procedures.
Technical
Apply knowledge of metal fabrication including Laser/Plasma/Waterjet cutting, Forming, Rolling, Assembly, Welding (automated & manual) & Machining Processes to every stage of the project.
Apply working knowledge of common fabrication codes such as ASME Section VIII Div 1, API 650, ASME B31.1 & 31.3, AWS D1.1.in each project as required.
Develop an understanding of the customer needs, goals, and product specifications and how they tie into common fabrication codes to ensure the design, and the final project meet all requirements.
Leadership
Without direct authority, you possess the ability to motivate and lead teams to ensure all team members are focused on project goals.
Planning & Organization
Break down projects into discrete logical work components and schedule tasks and actions accordingly factoring in design/detailing durations, material lead times, work durations and subcontractor lead times to ensure proper workflow.
Utilize ERP software and other resources to create internal documents as well as to document materials needed/purchased, labor expended, and product shipped.
Monitor tools to track material purchase/subcontracts, discern project status and deliver accurate and timely updated status to the rest of the CAID team.
Commercial/contract knowledge
Review, understand, and communicate the technical, commercial, and schedule requirements of each contract.
Review and understand the entire scope of work of the contract and identify when significant changes have been made to the contract that require discussions of monetary and lead time change orders.
Develop an understanding of the project milestones and how the contractual milestones tie into invoicing as to ensuring milestones are achieved and invoicing is up to date.
Additional Responsibilities
Maintains the confidentiality of customer and CAID's proprietary information.
Support budget estimates and participate in collaborative brainstorming.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in engineering, Business, or Management area of study or 3 years’ job experience in a related industry (i.e., fabrication).
PMI Certifications such as PMP, CAPM, RMP, or SP would be an asset/helpful.
Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes including Laser/Plasma/Waterjet cutting, Forming, Rolling, Assembly, Welding (automated & manual) & Machining.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
5 years’ experience with AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks strongly preferred.
5+ years’ Project Management experience in Fabrication, Manufacturing, Automation, Construction, Mining, Aerospace, Industrial, Defense, Power, or Oil & Gas preferred but not necessary.
Strong interpersonal skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing environment: May be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials.
