We are hiring for a Staff Civil Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis while based at our office in the West Chester, PA area. This person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of multi-discipline public and private site development projects across various markets!
This person will be expected to support project-level Engineers in all aspects of projects: conceptualization/planning, preliminary design, detailed design & development, construction documentation, permitting documentation, and engineering reports.
Primary Responsibilities:
Contribute to site development & design; this includes stormwater management (SWM), plan preparation, grading, drainage & stormwater conveyance, various permitting/applications, report writing, and construction documentation (including specifications).
Conduct / coordinate the technical & management aspects of projects; this includes being accountable for the successful completion of assigned engineering projects.
Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents.
Participate in Client and/or Contractor meetings; this includes resolving Client/Engineering and management project issues accordingly.
Ensuring effective engineering communications to relevant stakeholders.
Traveling and conducting field work (on a limited/project-required basis).
Assist with the supervision of Graduate Engineers and CAD Technicians
Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or a related technical discipline).
At least 4 years of professional experience working in Civil Engineering (preferably with Land Development and/or Site Design projects).
Preferred Qualifications:
PE license in PA is preferred!
LEED credential is a plus!
Experience working on brownfield (land redevelopment) as well as greenfield projects; additional exposure to a broader variety of Civil Engineering projects (e.g.: wet utility / water & wastewater, transportation, etc.) is a plus.
Experience working with water resources and/or stormwater management projects, especially while utilizing Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools; experience with utilizing HydroCAD and/or Watershed Modeling software is a plus!
Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, etc.); experience with utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare site development plans is preferred!
Experience working with regulatory approvals, including working with planning & zoning compliance.
Proven ability to prepare a site plan package for submission to local jurisdiction(s) is a plus!
Experience working successfully within assigned budgets.
Proficiency on basic office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision while displaying a positive attitude.
Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to demonstrate a self-motivated demeanor while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
Proven track record of displaying a professional demeanor (e.g.: proactive work habits, professional appearance, etc.).
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
