The Pharmacist Program Manager will lead initiatives to manage and optimize drug utilization, improve patient health outcomes, and control costs for chronic health conditions. This role is responsible for the holistic management of drug spend through proactive clinical program ideation, deployment, integrated care, and strategic partnerships. The manager will work closely with clinical teams, payers, providers, and other stakeholders to implement and monitor programs that align with the goals of quality care and cost-effectiveness.
How you will make an impact:
Ideation, development and oversight of programs that optimize medication management and reduce overall healthcare costs.
Establish strong partnerships with key stakeholders to execute programs that significantly mitigate cost trends.
Evaluate state and line-of-business specific utilization trends and align strategies with projected patterns.
Serve as an expert on the upcoming drug pipeline, assessing its impact on existing solutions and determining the need for new deployments.
Utilize integrated reporting and analytics to assess the impact of pharmacy interventions on health outcomes and costs.
Regularly present program ideas, cost savings, and value generated to a cross-functional team of leaders.
Manages both internal and external stakeholder communications for assigned area.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires BA/BS in Pharmacy and a minimum of 2 years of managed care pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Current valid active unrestricted state(s) RPH license required.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, etc.) preferred.
2-3 years in clinical pharmacy services, including extensive experience in specialty pharmacy management preferred.
Proven track record of managing and optimizing drug utilization and improving patient outcomes preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on clinical data preferred.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills preferred.
Ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships preferred.
Leadership skills to guide and influence clinical and operational teams preferred.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $124,824 to $213,984.
