The Market Plan President Wellpoint Western New York is responsible for the fiscal, operational management, legislative and regulatory objectives of an assigned Health Plan. A Health Plan at this level is large and complex in operating factors, which may include alliance or other joint venture relationships. Primary duties may include but are not limited to:
Position Responsibilities
Leads Wellpoint's Western New York Medicaid business to provide members with high-quality care and exceptional experience at an affordable cost. Aligns strategy to achieve business goals and build a culture of accountability with people who are results driven, innovative and committed to excellence.
Run Wellpoint's government health insurance business for Medicaid in Western New York and take full responsibility for managing the Medicaid P&L for health plan.
Foster strategic relationship with Alliance partners
Oversees operating gain, growth, cost of care commitments, revenue, quality and accreditation goals.
Develops and manages key State regulatory and legislative relationships and processes, including premium rates, covered population, eligibility, networks, administrative requirements and new products.
Proactively seek and respond to opportunities to maintain and expand Wellpoint's Medicaid footprint through Blues partnerships.
Collaborates with shared services support to reach Health Plan objectives. Ensures contract compliance and provides oversight of risk management programs.
Lead business development efforts to expand member base through RFPs and promotional activities.
Create strong teams and structure to drive performance across health plan.
Set strong culture of development people and teams to inspire performance.
Successfully support and operate within the broader organization's Business model -Incumbent is required to work successfully in a matrix model business environment.
Qualifications:
Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 12 years of related experience, including 8 years of experience in government sponsored health insurance programs and prior leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Capabilities and Experiences
Master's degree preferred.
8+ years' experience across government and/or commercial health insurance LOBs, including 3 years minimum in government market.
5+ years of management experience (e.g. operations, quality, sales, government relations)
2+ years undergoing growth or performance transformations in a health insurance context.
RFP experience.
Experience with P & L.
Experience growing a health insurance plan through strong demonstrated commercial acumen and margin management.
Experience and deep understanding of health plan operations to include Heath Services and Quality, Growth and Community, Provider Collaboration, Contracting and Plan Operations
Corporate Title: RVP II & President Medicaid Health Plan
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $198,000.00 to $297,000.00.
