Role Overview: As an integral part of the Holton leadership team, the Plant Controller plays a pivotal role in member development, manufacturing excellence, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic copilot to the Plant Director, leveraging their financial acumen, analytical expertise, and leadership skills to set strategic direction, identify financial opportunities, and lead improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Provide thought leadership and insights to achieve plant key performance metrics, emphasizing cost reduction and operational efficiency.
Cultivate relationships across all levels of the plant, including Core Team, Team Leaders, and Floor Members, actively participating in formal and informal meetings.
Take a hands-on approach to understanding all aspects of plant operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Translate data into actionable insights, leveraging our data-rich environment to identify areas for improvement.
Develop clear and concise dashboards that communicate operational and financial metrics effectively.
Lead the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, linking operational metrics to financial outcomes.
Collaborate with the central cost accounting team to align efforts.
Ensure facility cost per unit meets expectations, making necessary course corrections.
Support Commercial teams in estimating product costs for new offerings.
Evaluate business opportunities, contribute to capital decisions, and drive cost reduction initiatives.
Establish procedures and controls for accurate product costing and inventory management.
Coach and develop direct reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required).
CMA, CPA, and/or MBA (preferred).
Six or more years of accounting and finance experience, including management roles.
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and product costing.
Proactive self-starter with excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Practical systems knowledge (SAP preferred).
Demonstrated abilities in project management and change management.
