Responsibilities

Leadership

• Working with the Design Director, provide day-to-day leadership of projects or key project components, depending on the project and assignment. Ensure the intent of the design strategy is applied consistently and at the highest level through all design phases.
• Mentor and coach junior design talent, empowering others and encouraging design growth while maintaining the standard for the overall depth and quality of design.
• Reinforce design expectations of the studio practice.
• Partner with the Design Director to participate in and lead activities within the studio that further design quality and foster a design culture.
• Engage with Design Directors and Global Design Principals in an ongoing dialogue to advance firm-wide design thinking.


Business Development, Marketing and Brand Building

• Build, develop and maintain relationships with clients as opportunities arise, leading to repeat business.
• Develop and maintain a positive network of vendors, suppliers, and consultants, supporting LEO A DALY’s relationships within the market and building the brand as a high-performing design practice.
• Actively participate in social, civic, trade, and professional organizations to support marketing efforts.

Strategic Planning

• Work with the Design Director to vision, plan and implement strategic design initiatives, design quality requirements, and design policy.
• Assist the Design Director to elevate and maintain the depth and quality of the work as well as the overall quality of the studio.

Design Execution

• Using sound planning and design principles, analyze and develop design solutions consistent with client-provided architectural requirements, the LAD design approach and strategy, and local building codes and agency requirements.
• Perform studies and design explorations in BIM (Revit modeling), SketchUp or Rhino and transition concept ideas to implementation and detailing.
• Participate and assist in cross-discipline discussions and coordination.
• Assist in site analysis, project context investigations, and prepare report observations as required.
• Assist and prepare design narratives, architectural graphics, design presentations, drawing and specification documents at a consistently high level of quality, while maintaining the project schedule and budget.
• Maintain and advance knowledge of current industry trends on space, function, materials etc., and pursue relevant credential certifications.
• Attend client and internal meetings, assist with construction contract administration, and assist with marketing/business development activities.
• Present design solutions and technical project development directly to the client.
• Travel for project related activities relative to existing building assessments/investigations, client meetings, or construction jobsite observations as required.





  • 25+ years experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university

Salary range for this position varies between $95,000 – $125,000, depending upon applicable experience.
