Job Description:

This position is within Center of Excellence (CoE) in CTO North America (NAM) Organization and is responsible to provide Electronic Components expertise to wider organization. The candidate will interact with multiple teams in different Business units and expertise teams with high level of knowledge in electrical/electronic product design and component selection. He or she will guide innovation and technical work package within the organization in collaboration with global experts.

The mission


  • Be the go-to person in case of questions / concerns / interest regarding Electronic Components design, selection and qualification.

  • Mentor, train and guide product design engineers as necessary to increase their competencies in the domain.

  • A strong focus on ECSQ (Electronic Component Selection and Qualification), CSRM (Component Selection and Risk Management) and BOM (Bill of Materials) Review processes.

  • The candidate will:


  • Bring expertise to business from electronic component definition to final assessment, including design, verification, and validation.

  • Guide product design teams regarding Electronic Component selection to master quality and supply chain resilience.

  • Act as an NAM region interface with TSM (Technology Standardization Management) organization for Electronic Components

  • Support and train NAM electronics resources toward an excellence level.

  • Lead within our organization and behave as a thought leader with good understanding of the processes, impacting business and customer.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to product design teams regarding electronic component selection in accordance with various SE policies and best practices

  • Stays updated on industry trends, new technologies and suppliers to identify opportunities for innovation, quality improvement and cost reduction

  • Actively contributes to Technical Excellence

  • Influences the technical direction in anticipation of offer creation and also influences bricks, platforms or methods across the organization

  • Has an important impact on Schneider Electric business, offers and technologies.

  • Employs appropriate tools to model and analyze electronic components for various performance criteria. Supports testing/validation efforts as necessary.

  • Works closely with cross-functional team of product owners, hardware engineers and electro-mechanical engineers to ensure overall system approach

  • The candidate should

    • master the strategic technology domain (Electronic Components), actively develop and deploy related innovation and expertise to offers (research, platforming, standardization, trends, partnership, intellectual property, reference documents).

    • hold a deep knowledge of our offers to support technical interactions with end-customers and to solve offer issues.

    • Regularly contribute to an international and multi-organization technical community and beyond a cross-functions (Quality, Supply Chain, ...) network.

    • Contribute actively to development, sharing and capitalization of knowledge and know-how




Profile of the Candidate:

The position requires a certain autonomy with a leading spirit to work in advanced research topics where the critical thinking is a key success factor. These soft skills are important in addition to the required expertise in one or multiple electrical fields:


  • BS or MS in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and 10+ years of industry experience in electronics design using a variety of components

  • Deep knowledge of electronic component selection to meet various technical and supply chain criteria

  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g. CAD, PDM, PLM, etc.)

  • The candidate should have a good understanding of the Electronics design (analog, digital, power electronics, etc.)

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g. RoHS, REACH)

  • Ability to network, collaborate, influence and convince in a matrix organization, foster change.
