Overview The Pricing Analyst serves as the primary source for item setup in VIP (product attributes, costs, pricing, etc.) based upon information provided by branch management and suppliers. In addition, the Pricing Analyst will provide support to branches and corporate office in the areas of data extraction, reporting and system application of pricing strategies. Duties and Responsibilities
Accurate and timely setup of new items based upon information provided by branch management and suppliers
Accurate setup of cost, pricing and supplier reimbursement information
Monthly review and analysis of margins and profitability
Assist branches with identifying and reducing slow-moving inventory
Provide assistance to Finance/Vendor Recovery on the collection of supplier AR, specifically Depletion Allowances
Work with Finance to resolve invoice discrepancies
Identify and resolve discrepancies in costs/pricing with branch management and suppliers
Create specific reports and data analysis for General Managers upon request
Conduct bi-annual review of item freight costs and update accordingly
Train users on software and data analysis techniques
Guide fact-based decision making and selling support at the corporate level and in the field
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree plus five years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Three years of experience in market research with strong analytical skills
Previous background in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of syndicated and POS data
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient working knowledge of computerized applications, for example, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, email, and specialized business applications software
Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and facilitate discussions with all levels of management
Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas and government agencies as required
Demonstrated high-level proficiency of oral and written communication skills
Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate the workload around multiple assignments
Physical Demands
Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
