Position Overview
The Mission Coordinator should possess knowledge and work experience in US and Allied Navy operations. Understand coordinated and theater anti-submarine warfare, the Maritime Surveillance System Program, and oceanographic survey ship operations, including subsea remotely operated and autonomous vehicle operations. Possess experience collaborating and coordinating efforts with internal program stakeholders and multiple external organizations and providing executive-level briefings to customers. Must be able to travel to and work at remote locations. This position reports to the Senior Mission Coordinator. Essential Job Functions
Level Impact Language:
Act as fleet program liaison - Coordinate customer objectives with fleet operational requirements
Develop Operation Plans & sailing directives
Develop and maintain professional contacts with senior US & Allied military and government personnel including embassy Defense Attaché staffs
Brief senior fleet commanders on project requirements
Act as Security Manager (Afloat)
Qualifications
Skills/Abilities
Bachelor of Science Degree - Surface or Submarine Qualified Naval Officer or Master Chief with at least eight years of active service
Intelligence sub-specialty or experience
Headquarters staff level experience desired
Experience conducting operations in sensitive areas, including: Prevention of submerged mutual interference (PMI). Diplomatic and territorial work clearance.
Experience and understanding of geographic fleet organization, theater anti-submarine warfare, ship scheduling, Joint Global Force Management, navigation, oceanography, unmanned underwater vehicle operations, cable repair, and installation operations
Knowledge and work experience in US and Allied Navy operations
Must be able to travel to and work at remote locations
Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds
Must be able to climb ladders and stand for prolonged periods of time
Must possess or be able to obtain Top Secret clearance
Working Conditions: - This position is considered OFFSHORE which is characterized as follows
Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water
Frequently working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment
Humidity is frequently above 90%
Noise is over 85 decibels
