WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Conservation Coordinator will be a key member of TNC's Chesapeake Bay Program and the Chesapeake Bay Agriculture Team working to restore a healthy Chesapeake Bay that supports over 3,700 species of plants and animals, thriving local communities, and sustainable industries such as fisheries, farming, and toursim. The Conservation Coordinator will bring their enthusiasm to work with multiple conservation teams to advance projects that improve water quality, sustain, and increase biodiversity, and increase climate resiliency by facilitating efficient and effective communications among teams and partners, supporting rapid processing and approval processes to pay invoices and participant payments, draft contracts and facilitate approvals and deadlines, track and report on project deliverables and conservation outcomes, and plan fun and informative staff and partner meetings and activities.

This position will be based in our Easton, MD office with the ability to work remotely up to 2 days/week.

  • Will apply their passion for and/or experience in biodiversity, ecology, restoration, and/or agriculture.
  • Can communicate effectively and efficiently with diverse groups and individuals on project teams and support their coordination on project tasks.
  • Can manage their time effectively to meet deadlines while also working proactively across multiple projects and teams to manage project documents, schedules, deliverables, and progress simultaneously.
  • Can manage and organize large amounts of information and data, ensure quality, and create summary reports and graphs.
  • Can follow detailed directions to develop draft documents and navigate complex review processes.
  • Can efficiently track and process payments for project work, including partner invoices and match documentation.
  • Can coordinate engaging and fun meetings for attendees with varying needs.
  • Can offer creative solutions about new and better ways to accelerate progress toward our conservation goals.
  • Is excited to enthusiastically engage in new and diverse tasks as the need arises.
  • Sees opportunities to help both nature and people thrive.



WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, natural resources management, agriculture or related field and 2 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience understanding the principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice (DEIJ) and effectively intergrating these values into their work
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suie
  • Experience coordinating and managing multiple projects with multiple teams in multiple states.
  • Experience planning meetings and/or events
  • Experience handling standard business communications.

SALARY INFORMATION

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the hourly range $23.00-$26.00 ($48,000 to $52,000 for annual base salary). This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
